Nomenclatural History
The class Chlamydiia was originally proposed by Horn 2010. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 170 in 2016. Gupta et al. published an emended description of this class in 2015. This name replaces the name Cavalier-Smith 2002 non Chlamydiae Garrity and Holt 2021 .
