Nomenclatural History
The genus Longicella was originally proposed by Lagkouvardos et al. 2016.

"Longicella" cannot be validated as it is an illegitimate later homonym of a zoological name (the moth genus Longicella). Therefore the proposed name contravenes Principle 2 of the ICNP.
