The species Erwinia milletiae was originally described by Magrou 1937. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Beji et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Enterobacter agglomerans (Beijerinck 1888) Ewing and Fife 1972 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1988. Beji et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Pantoea agglomerans (Beijerinck 1888) Gavini et al. 1989
in 1988.
