The species Calderobacterium hydrogenophilum was originally described by Kryukov et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 14 in 1984. In 2001, Stöhr et al. established as the basonym of (Kryukov et al. 1984) Stöhr et al. 2001 .
