Nomenclatural History	The species Thermoactinomyces vulgaris was originally described by Tsilinsky 1899. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Jiang et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Yoon et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Thermoactinomyces candidus Kurup et al. 1975 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2000.
