Nomenclatural History	The species Corynebacterium betae was originally described by Keyworth et al. 1956. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1982, Carlson and Vidaver reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens betae (Keyworth et al. 1956) Carlson and Vidaver 1982 .
