Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Porphyromonas was originally proposed and validly published by Shah and Collins 1988. Willems and Collins published an emended description of this genus in 1995. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Wagener et al. in 2014 and Kawamura et al. in 2015. Willems and Collins transferred the members of
Oribaculum Moore and Moore 1994
into this genus in 1995.
