Nomenclatural History
The genus Prevotella was originally proposed and validly published by Shah and Collins 1990. Willems and Collins published an emended description of this genus in 1995. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Sakamoto and Ohkuma in 2012. Sakamoto and Ohkuma transferred the members of Ueki et al. 2006 into this genus in 2012.
