Nomenclatural History
|
The species Fusobacterium pseudonecrophorum was originally described by Harris and Brown 1927. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1990 the name was revived and validly published by Shinjo et al.. Bailey and Love established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Fusobacterium varium (Eggerth and Gagnon 1933) Moore and Holdeman 1969 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1993.
