The species Chimaereicella alkaliphila was originally described by Tiago et al. 2006. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 109 in 2006. In 2007, Nedashkovskaya et al. established as the basonym of (Tiago et al. 2006) Nedashkovskaya et al. 2007 emend. Inan et al. 2015 .
