Nomenclatural History
The species Bifidobacterium thermacidophilum was originally described and validly published by Dong et al. 2000. Zhu et al. published an emended description of this species in 2003. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. In 2003, Zhu et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Dong et al. 2000) Zhu et al. 2003 .
