Nomenclatural History
The species Fibrobacter succinogenes was originally described and validly published by Montgomery et al. 1988. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. In 1988, Montgomery et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Hungate 1950) Montgomery et al. 1988 . Montgomery et al. formed this name in 1988 by placing the species Hungate 1950 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Montgomery et al. 1988.
