Nomenclatural History
The species Roseomonas rosea was originally described and validly published by Sánchez-Porro et al. 2009. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Sánchez-Porro et al. formed this name in 2009 by placing the species Kämpfer et al. 2003 into the genus Rihs et al. 1998 emend. Rai et al. 2021.

This name may be illegitimate based on Rule 12b ("No specific or subspecific epithets within the same genus may be the same if based on different types"). See Roseomonas gilardii subsp. rosea Han et al. 2003.
