Nomenclatural History
The family Rhodothermaceae was originally proposed by Ludwig et al. 2010. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 143 in 2012. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this family in 2016. A subsequent emendation was proposed by García-López et al. in 2019.
