Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 15 in 1984. The species Thermomonospora fusca was originally described by Henssen 1957. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived by McCarthy and Cross. In 1998, Zhang et al. established as the basonym of (McCarthy and Cross 1984) Zhang et al. 1998 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 .
