Nomenclatural History
The genus Modestobacter was originally proposed and validly published by Mevs et al. 2000. Reddy et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2007. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Xiao et al. in 2011, Qin et al. in 2013 and Montero-Calasanz et al. in 2019.
