Nomenclatural History

The species Microsphaera multipartita was originally described and validly published by Yoshimi et al. 1996. Tao et al. replaced this illegitimate name with
Nakamurella multipartita (Yoshimi et al. 1996) Tao et al. 2004 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2004.
This name is illegitimate because the genus name is a junior homonym of the fungal genus Microsphaera.
