Nomenclatural History
The species Sphingobacterium mizutaii was originally described and validly published by Yabuuchi et al. 1983. Holmes et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Choi and Lee published an emended description of this species in 2012. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Wauters et al. in 2012 and García-López et al. in 2019. In 1988, Holmes et al. established as the basonym of (Yabuuchi et al. 1983) Holmes et al. 1988 .
