Nomenclatural History
The genus Flexibacter was originally proposed by Soriano 1945. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Leadbetter published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hahnke et al. in 2016.
