Nomenclatural History

The genus Flectobacillus was originally proposed by Larkin et al. 1977. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Raj and Maloy published an emended description of this genus in 1990. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Ramaprasad et al. in 2015.
