Nomenclatural History
The genus Hymenobacter was originally proposed by Hirsch et al. 1998. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 68 in 1999. Buczolits et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2006. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Reddy in 2013 and Han et al. in 2014.
