Nomenclatural History
The species Flexithrix dorotheae was originally described by Lewin 1970. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hosoya and Yokota published an emended description of this species in 2007. Hosoya and Yokota established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Lewin 1969) Leadbetter 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2007.
