Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Prosthecobacter was originally proposed by Staley et al. 1976. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1980 the name was revived and validly published by Staley et al.. Takeda et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2008.
