Nomenclatural History

The genus Salipiger was originally proposed and validly published by Martínez-Cánovas et al. 2004. Wirth and Whitman published an emended description of this genus in 2018. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Hördt et al. in 2020 and Liang et al. in 2021.
