Nomenclatural History
The genus Labilibacter was originally proposed and validly published by Lu et al. 2017. García-López et al. transferred the members of this genus into Yang et al. 2014 emend. García-López et al. 2019 in 2019.

García-López et al. 2020 indicate that Labilibacter should be re-unified with Saccharicrinis, and transferred Labilibacter aurantiacus (the type species of Labilibacter) into Saccharicrinis, effectively unifying the genera. The authors failed to mention Labilibacter marinus (a former species of Saccaricrinis), and since then a new species has been proposed, Labilibacter sediminis Wang et al. 2020.
