Nomenclatural History
The species Bifidobacterium pseudolongum was originally described by Mitsuoka 1969. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Nouioui et al. elevated the subspecies Yaeshima et al. 1992 to the rank of species to form this name in 2018.
