Nomenclatural History
The species Bifidobacterium adolescentis was originally described by Reuter 1963. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Killer et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Kim et al. 2010 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2013.
