Nomenclatural History
The species Blastopirellula marina was originally described and validly published by Schlesner et al. 2004. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Schlesner et al. formed this name in 2004 by placing the species (Schlesner 1987) Schlesner and Hirsch 1987 into the genus Schlesner et al. 2004.
