Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Bacteroides ruminicola ruminicola was originally described by Bryant et al. 1958. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1980, Skerman et al. reduced Bryant et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies. In 2007, Garrity et al. established as the basonym of (Bryant et al. 1958) Avguštin et al. 1997 .
