Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Prevotella ruminicola ruminicola was originally described and validly published by Avguštin et al. 1997. In 1997, Avguštin et al. reduced (Bryant et al. 1958) Shah and Collins 1990 emend. García-López et al. 2019 to the rank of subspecies. Garrity et al. formed this name in 2007 by placing the subspecies Bryant et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) into the species (Bryant et al. 1958) Shah and Collins 1990 emend. García-López et al. 2019.
